Building hella rad WordPress websites

WordPress is my jam and I love it for it’s versatility and scalability. I’ve been building WordPress sites for six years, covering everything from landing pages and simple brochure sites to portfolios, blogs, multi-lingual sites and eCommerce sites with multiple payment gateways and integrated courier solutions.

Experience across many other CMS

I have experience building and maintaining sites in other Content Management Systems such as: Shopify; Joomla; WebFlow; Squarespace; Wix. I’m a fast learner who enjoys a challenge and I stay curious. I like to try other ways to build and maintain websites, but so far I haven’t found a better platform than WordPress.

An eye for design and attention to detail

I notice the little things and can quickly spot if a design is even a few pixels off. I have found this an incredibly helpful skill in the digital marketing space. An eye for design is also an especially useful skill for a web developer to have. It’s a skill that I have found to be rare in the development field.

Search Engine Optimisation

I have an understanding of SEO best practices and tools and can implement both on-page and technical SEO on websites to improve organic search traffic.

Cross-channel digital marketing

From organic social media, to PPC ads, and email marketing, I have a broad understanding of all areas of digital marketing.

Analytics and reporting

I am familiar with the use of Google Analytics (including GA4) to gather traffic and usage data from websites to inform improvements on the site and related marketing efforts.

Copywriting

My educational background is in Media and Communications and English and I have extensive experience writing copy for websites, email marketing and social media.

Problem-solving

I love solving problems! All kinds of problems! Whether it be solving website issues, finding bugs in code, improving business processes, fixing the office coffee machine or solving a Rubiks cube.

Team work

I value working on a team and having others to bounce ideas off of. After working for myself for nearly five years, the thing I missed the most was working within a supportive team.

Excellent communication

I excel at being able to explain client problems to technical teams and technical problems to clients/non-technical team members. I am equally comfortable having face-to-face conversations and email interactions with others. I can convey information succinctly and honestly.

Digital project management

I pride myself on keeping channels of communication open and providing useful updates to all parties before they have to ask. It is important to me to plan projects effectively to ensure deadlines are met and work is carried out efficiently and with minimal reverts.

Making friends with any cat

This is a very important skill to have in the world. I can make friends with any cat I meet. I think this is important not only because I love cats, but because it reflects on my ability to understand and respect non-verbal communication and the personal space of others.
